Several of Edvard Munch's (1863-1944) most famous paintings are in this room: «Madonna», «Ashes», «The Scream» «Puberty», «The Sick Child», «The Dance of Life», «The Girls on the Pier», «Death in the Sick-Room», «Man in the Cabbage-Field» etc.

Early 2005 the gallery reopened after a period of redecoration and changing of the exhibition. The new exhitibition has caused a rage in the media.
